Tamara Apgar’s diverse professional background has been the “perfect university,” preparing her with the multiple skills necessary to serve clients as an outstanding medical claims expert. A former financial planner, educator, and advocate for persons with disabilities, Tamara has strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills. Her understanding of the importance of the bottom line is tempered with professional courtesy, excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence and perseverance. In her personal life, as primary caregiver for family members with dementia and other serious health issues, she learned firsthand the frustrations of juggling the many daily demands of life while caring for the ill. Tamara says, “It’s hard enough to see a loved one struggle. Fighting the insurance companies or Medicare to have claims paid properly is a burden no caregiver needs.”
As a result of her work with displaced workers and adults with disabilities, Tamara saw the impact of illnesses and chronic medical conditions on patients and their families. Her awareness of the multi-layered challenges families and patients face during an illness and the challenges of being an executor following a death informs her work. Her goal is to resolve claims discrepancies, maximize insurance reimbursements, and bring peace of mind to patients and families
